On Thursday, November 28, the group “Economists for Future” was inaugurated worldwide, which derives from the movement promoted by the young Swedish activist Greta Thunberg “Fridays for Future”.
Jorge Rosales, Jorge Rosales, a researcher at the Center for Economics and Social Policies, is the first Chilean to participate in the group, so he was interviewed by El Mostrador in a note entitled “The only Chilean that integrates the newly created Economists for Future movement”.
The Economists for Future group is born as a result of the climatic emergency that the doctrine of economics has failed to face optimally. For this reason, the movement aims to generate research that helps economists have a sustainable and ecological vision of the discipline, in order to radically change the way of producing and consuming reducing greenhouse gas emissions and unsustainable use of natural resources.
