[Press] The validations of the TNE reveal that young people anticipated their trips before 7:30

Jorge Rosales was interviewed at El Mercurio to talk about the new habits of the students.

The professor of the Center for Economics and Social Policies, Jorge Rosales, was interviewed in the newspaper El Mercurio about a study of the transport habits of Chilean university students. The report shows that Chilean students are getting up earlier to avoid vehicular congestion in the city and arrive on time to their universities. This is evidenced by the increase in the proportion of trips between 5:30 and 7:30 (versus trips at 8:00) in this age section, with data on the use of the National Student Card.

Jorge Rosales warns of a harmful effect "on sleep hygiene. According to studies, a teenager should sleep between 8 and 10 hours, and an adult, an average value of 8 hours. When they don't sleep the necessary hours, their cognitive process gets worse; sleeping less than 6 hours for two days is equivalent to not sleeping one night, and working like this is not positive for anyone. "

You can review the full reportage in the newspaper El Mercurio published on Sunday, August 25, section C2.
