CEAS' Investigator, Mayarí Castillo, was invited as an expert in the elaboration of the 2019 INDH report, in the chapter titled "State enterprises and communitary relationships in the context of UN's enteprise and Human Rights guidelines".

This report is made anually by a decrete of the Institute's Council, whose director is appointed by the president. In this State-dependent institution, eleven advisors are designated by congress and other State institutions, keeping in mind the representativity of all political sectors. This council sets a particular theme evey year, and it is considered a key report for policy makers in the area of Human Rights.

This year, one of the chapters is "State enterprises and communitary relationships in the context of UN's enteprise and Human Rights guidelines". In order to make this work, an investigation was made via the interview of different experts and actors that showed the critical nodes that guided the analysis. Professor Castillo was consulted on these matters, considering that the document adresses the relationships between excractive enterprises and communities (for example Codelco - Chuquicamata - Alto Loa y Codelco/ ENAP - Puchuncaví Ventanas), areas that have been studied by the academic. Her main contribution had to do with a diagnosis on the situation of communities that were of particular interest to the council: indigenous and poor people.

The report will be published by the end of 2019 in INDH's website.
